Why Literature? talk by Muhammad Hashim

On 20th December, 2021.We the students of FMTC had the opportunity to attend a seminar done by Professor Muhammad Hashim sir. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Noushad Younus, Vice Chairman, Fathima Memorial Education Trust. 

Sir started the speech by talking of the importance of Literature in the present senerio and how it has the power to transcend our lives. History is not only a gateway to the past, it’s also suggestive of our present and the future. Within every time period lies different people and within them, different stages in our ever-growing culture. Each individual before was a product of their own time. As a species we evolve every day.

Literature allows a person to step back in time and learn about life on Earth from the ones who walked before us. We can gather a better understanding of culture and have a greater appreciation of them. We learn through the ways history is recorded, in the forms of manuscripts and through speech itself. 

Had so much fun and was truly inspired to have had the opportunity to hear sir's speech.He speak so passionately. Hoping to see sir again.

Teaching practice phase 1 week 1

As part of our B Ed curriculum, we the student teachers of FMTC Mylapore have to do teaching practice of 40 days. The teaching practice started on 5th January 2022. We, a group of 3 members opted G.H.S.S VALLIKEEZHU for teaching practice. With the blessings and instructions of our dear principal Dr Lakshmi Natarajan Ma'am and all our dear teachers we started our teaching practice on 5th January. We reached the school at 9am and signed the register. We met our concerned teachers in the school. The teachers in the school are very friendly, motivating and caring. Iam assigned with class 8.E. Sabitha teacher is my teacher for class 8 respectively. On the first day, I got an opportunity to take class in class 8.E. I took the chapter 'THE NIGHTINGALE AND THE ROSE By OSCAR WILDE. There were 21 students. The students were very friendly and very responsive. As per the new rule, the classes are divided into two batches. On the second day, I took the chapter 'THE NIGHTINGALE AND THE ROSE' for the second batch. I also got a period in class 9.E on the same day for substitution.It was on the whole a new experience.
